AI Agents are contributing a growing amount of code to GitHub. Some developers are leaning into this, creating automated development pipelines, assigning issues from Slack or changing their review process to be agent first. Other developers, particularly in open source, are being overwhelmed by agent generated PR's and issues and are not sure what this means for the future of their project. GitHub is a tool at the center of the software development process and has been evolving quickly for the agentic era. In this talk we'll look at some of the key changes that are here in GitHub and what's to come in the future.
