About me
Fausto Albers is the founder of WonderWhy, an applied-AI company in Amsterdam, and co-founder of AI Builders Club, a European community for people who build with AI. He trained as a sociologist, then founded successful restaurants and cocktail companies before turning his understanding of human behavior toward machines. He now works closely with the Industrial Digital Twins Lab at Amsterdam
University of Applied Sciences and with European manufacturers to help secure
the industry's position for the future. For the steel industry he leads R&D on
inferring 3D reality from 2D technical drawings and compiling the result into
CNC machine instructions. He also contributes to Newton, a Dutch open-source
project that lets people communicate with industrial machines and their
time-series data, making predictive maintenance smoother in practice. His current research focuses on evolutionary algorithms and AI theory of mind,
though he still considers a packed restaurant on a Saturday night the hardest
multi-agent system he has ever worked on.
