Wes Billman is a software engineer at Block on the AI Substrate team, building the platforms where humans and AI agents work side by side. As a core engineer on Buzz, Block's agent-native communication platform, he ships across the full stack — from the Rust relay and event protocol to the desktop, mobile, and web clients. Working with agentic coding as his daily practice, he believes the best way to discover what agents need is to build alongside them: every rough edge that surfaces becomes the next problem worth solving.
